We are very pleased to announce that The Microscores Project will be performing at ARTSaha! 2008. Johnny Chang (violin) and Jessica Catron (cello) have been performing music that lasts for 30 seconds or less over the last several years in concerts all over the world.
As part of their appearance at the festival, they have opened a call for submissions of new microscores. The call is open to all artists, and they will select several scores to perform at ARTSaha! 2008.
CALLING FOR MICROSCORE SUBMISSIONS
Duo seeking new music for violin and cello - compositions of no more than 30 seconds (or microscores). Solo pieces for either instruments are possible. We welcome and encourage experimentations in the widest possible range of compositional approach.
The Microscore Project aims to bring together artists of all musical backgrounds and artists of various disciplines. To date, we have produced concerts in Los Angeles, Seattle, Vancouver and Auckland and amassed a collection of close to 300 compositions from more than 100 composers, improvisers, instrument builders, performers and more.
Visit www.myspace.com/theMicroscoreProject online for documentation of previous concerts.
Deadline for submission: August 11, 2008

Some guidelines for scores submissions.
1. Scores sent in PDF format should be set in A4 or 8.5′x11′ format.
2. If your score is bigger that A4, please mail hard copies instead. When doing so, please have 3 copies of the score.
Please do not send individual parts as the compositions are so short. Thank you!
3. Attach a very brief micro-bio of yourself, maximum 30 words.
